Completing my Bucket List

Niagara Falls with Hornblower Niagara Cruises

Day 2 in Canada and we headed along to Niagara falls.  And what better way to see them than by getting up close and soaked by the mist with Hornblower Niagara Cruises.

Hornblower Niagara Cruises is the official Canadian operator of boat tours to Niagara Falls, Canada and is a sister company of Hornblower Cruises and Events.  As Canada’s most iconic visitor experience, the Niagara Falls boat tour hosts millions of visitors a year from around the world.

“Our intimate Niagara Falls boat tours bring you as close as possible to the breathtaking flow of water, power and mist that is the magnificent Niagara Falls. Within the Niagara Great Gorge we’ll journey past the American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and into the very heart of the famous Horseshoe Falls for an exhilarating experience with the waterfalls that make up the famous natural wonder, Niagara Falls”

Whilst the falls may not be the tallest, or the widest in the world they have the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world.

Some interesting facts about the falls: Niagara Falls will erode backwards approximately 1.5 metres each year. Niagara Falls pushes 6 million cubic feet (168,000 cubic meters) of water over the brink of the falls every minute. This is equivalent to 1 million bathtubs full of water going over the Falls!

We put on our ponchos and took our place at the top of the boat (knowing we may get wet), but that’s part of the fun right?!  Check out the video.

For more information head over to to book your experience.  They also offer cruises at night with the Falls illumination cruise, and the falls firework cruises on certain dates.

Thank you to Hornblower Niagara Cruises for this amazing experience, and thank you to Joanna from Hornblower for being our amazing guide for the day.  This was an incredible experience we will remember forever.
