How was your weekend?  Mine was fantastic! It started off at North Hop Aberdeen.

North Hop was created to raise the awareness and love of craft beer and all the great things that go with it, and put the Highlands firmly on the craft beer map through a series of ‘taster’ and ‘pop up’ events and festivals. This has now developed into a whole host of unique and exciting events and festivals across Scotland showcasing the best in food, drink and music the Highlands and Scotland has to offer.

As we were heading to Comic-Con later in the day it made sense to turn up in costume.Certainly turned a few heads as we turned up at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.  On entrance you are greeted with a beer glass and a coupon for your first beer.   I opted for a six°north beer to start the day off, followed by a lovely strawberry wine from Cairn O’Mohr.

The food options looked amazing! BBQ, Creme Brulee and so much more were on offer.

We then headed off to Granite City Comic-con at the Hilton Treetops.  I’ve wanted to attend a Comic-con for many years now and finally had the chance to.

The effort of all the costumes were amazing!  I enjoyed a look around some of the stalls and picked up some business cards to place some orders online in the future.  Met some lovely people and even won an award for my costume.

In the evening we stayed for the after party where we enjoyed watching some wonderful burlesque dancing and cabaret.  By ten PM I was shattered and had sore eyes from the contact lenses so it was off to bed for me!

I loved my first Comic-Con and getting dressed up again, and next year I’ll be getting the two day ticket.

Have you been to a Comic-Con before?
