When I was looking up things to do in Vancouver, most websites suggested a day trip to Whister. With Landsea Tours and Adventures we booked on the Whistler Mountains and Adventure Tour.
Picked up from our hotel, we then headed out of the city, through Stanley park and over the Lions Gate Bridge.
Then began the start of the Trans-Canada Highway “Sea to Sky Highway”. This is the most amazing road we’ve ever traveled, with breathtaking views the whole way. Fjords, and Islands could been seen, with the snow topped mountains in the background.
We stopped off at Brandywine Falls, and took a short walk to the viewing point.
Then it was onto Whistler, home of the 2010 Winter Olympics, where we had 3 hours to spend ourselves. Due to being out of season the gondola up Whistler Mountain was unfortunately not running, but instead we had a nice, relaxing afternoon. We enjoyed some lunch whilst watching the mountain bikers come down the mountain, then a spot of shopping.
Depending on the time of year there are other activities available in the area, including: bungee jumping, skiing, tobogganing, seaplanes, snowmobiles, and ATV tours.
After a lovely afternoon there we made a quick stop at Rainbow Park.
Then onto our final stop, Shannon Falls. It is the third highest waterfall in the province at just under 1,100 feet. We enjoyed a short walk to the base for a great view.
This was our last stop for the day, it was time to head back. We made the 45 minute trip back to Downtown Vancouver, again taking in the same amazing views of the fjords.
Landsea Tours and Adventures also offer some other tours and adventures including, Victoria Tour, North Shore Tour, Rafting, Ziplining and a few others which you can read about on their website vancouvertours.com.
For a great guided tour, with some free time to enjoy Whister by yourself, this is the tour for you!
