Seasonal Affective Disorder

Try out a SAD Light

S.A.D, or Seasonal Affective Disorder (also known as winter depression) is something that effects many people, including myself.

As soon as the clocks change, and its dark going to and from work, I notice a huge difference in my mood.  All I want to do when I get home from work, is get in my pyjamas and get under the covers, just waiting for summer to come around again.

A while ago I heard about SAD lamps.

The idea behind them is the replicate sunlight, which should give the user a positive effect on their mood.  Even doctors recommend these now, so I decided to try one myself.

I was provided this SAD light from Llloyds Pharmacy to try out.  You are meant to use it between 30 minutes and two hours a day, depending on how close you have it to you.

I’ve just started using it now so will report back with how I get on.

Have you ever tried a SAD light? or do you have any other suggestions for dealing with S.A.D?
