Completing my Bucket List

Exploring Munich in a Day With Grayline

With only a weekend in Munich we needed to see as much as possible in little time.  As always I headed over to Grayline.com to check out one of their tours, and came across the 24 hour “hop on hop off” tour.

The first place we hopped off was the Palace of Nymphenburg.  The palace is the main summer residence of the former rulers of Bavaria of the House of Wittelsbach.

Due to the winter schedule of the bus only being 10-3pm we didn’t spend too long at each stop. We had a wander around the grounds outside, took some photos of the outside of the palace and the guests that live there.

Next was the stop David was looking forward to the most, BMW World.  The entrance to BMW world is free, but there is an entry fee for the museum.  We spent some time checking out the cars and David sat in a few we’ll never afford.

Our final stop for the day was the Christmas market.  We spent many hours here exploring the stalls, sampling the foods then managed to get a good space by 3pm for the Krampus run.

After an exciting day exploring Munich it was time to sit down with a beer and relax.

The Hop on Hop off tour is the perfect way to explore Munich when you have little time in the city.

Our Grand Circle Tour shows you additional to the highlights of Munich the Palace of Nymphenburg, the Olympic Grounds as well as the Siegestor near the English Garden on our open air double-decker buses. A complete Grand Circle Tour lasts 2.5 hours. Of course, getting on and off adds to the total duration of the tour.
