After arriving at Munich airport we took the train straight to Marienplatz. Coming up from the train station we walked straight out onto the Christmas markets. Food/drink and craft stalls were all around the centre and the place was bustling with life!
We wanted to drop our bags off at the hotel before heading out for the day, and were lucky enough our hotel was just five minutes away.
Walking up to the Kempinski Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten we could just tell we were in for a luxury stay. Centrally located in the heart of Munich, it is the ideal place to stay to make the most of this vibrant city.
The lobby was decorated with the most gorgeous hotel Christmas tree I’ve ever seen, which reached all the way to the ceiling. Our check in was quick, pleasant and easy and within five minutes we were headed up to our room.
The superior room featured a king size bed, desk, flat screen television, WIFI access and large two headed shower – OH! and of course the super cute Mr and Mrs Ducks for your bubble bath!
The room was so quiet, we didn’t hear anything from the streets or the lobby which made for an excellent sleep!
Each morning we headed down for the buffet breakfast. Freshly baked croissants were brought around the tables with your coffees and teas. You could then help yourself to meats, cheeses, breads, and cooked foods. I found myself near the pastries often, and enjoyed some Christmas gingerbread to treat myself.
Freshly squeezed juices and a morning juice shot were available for you to help yourself too also.
Which ever direction we walked from the hotel we came across something wonderful. The main Christmas market was just five minutes away, and with a ten minute walk in the opposite direction we came across the medieval market.
This market shows what markets would have been like back in the middle ages. People in period dress playing instruments, or with eagles walk around making you feel like you’ve gone back in time. There are some traditional food, drink and crafts – I could have bought something from every stall!
The Kempinski name is proudly borne by a growing collection of distinguished properties around the world. As Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group, we are committed to providing our guests with memorable journeys inspired by exquisite European flair. We believe life should be lived with style.
Every moment of our stay at the Kempinski Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten was perfection, from check in to check out. The venue is so close to everything we needed to see/do in the short time we had there.
I’d highly recommend the Kempinski Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten for when you visit Munich, and I’ll be checking out the Kempinski hotels in future on my trips.
**our stay at the hotel was complimentary, but as always all opinions are my own**
