Completing my Bucket List

An Overview of 2016

So that’s another year over, and I like to finish the year looking back on all of the good things that have happened.

January

Starting in January where we went for a long weekend to Iceland.  On the Golden Circle tour we saw the frozen Gulfoss waterfall and the geysers.  We took a Icelandic pony ride through the black lava fields then explored the black lava caves, got locked in a prison to try Reykjavik escape, then our final night was spent in front of the Northern Lights.

February

February I crossed off visiting a Cat Cafe off the bucket list, had an interview with the BBC about my bucket list and became a brand ambassador for Craghoppers.

March

Even though we’ve visited Edinburgh many times, we’ve never visited the tourist attractions.  On a long weekend we explored the castle, the dungeons, Mary Kings Close, Camera Obscura and the Diamond Heist Escape Room.

April

April included a weekend break to Copenhagen, with a day trip to Malmo, Sweden and my first ever bloggers event where I met so many amazing local women.

May

My mum joined me in May on a trip to Switzerland.  We spent a lovely day on the train stopping off along the lake and taking in the beautiful sights.  On our day trip to France, Mum took a brave step and came up the cable car to the top of Aguille Du Midi, then stepped out onto the void. After lunch we got shouted at by a french waiter and got to see his ass – lucky us.

On my return I headed along to my first ever Comic-con where I got to work on some more special effects make up.  I loved my Lorne from Angel look.

June

In June we took our first ever relaxing vacation.  One week in Lanzarote relaxing on the beach, eating and drinking.  We did however take a day trip to Timanfaya National Park to see the volcanoes.  I also added two more tattoos to my collection, including my amazing Deathly Hallows one.

I was also selected to go along on the Elevator Challenge – where I learned so much about myself, and met some great people.

I celebrated my 28th birthday by booking my first ever solo trip to College of Wizardry in March 2017.  We also took a last minute weekend break to Amsterdam.

September

This was our biggest trip of the year.  Starting in San Francisco, we headed up to Portland, Seattle and Vancouver.  With a stop at the most beautiful place I have ever seen in my life. Yosemite National Park.

October

My favourite month of the year.  A month of horror.  Zombie runs, killer clowns, haunted houses and escape rooms.

November

The only exciting thing from November was binge watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer again.

December

We had a wonderful weekend in Munich exploring the tourist attractions, the Christmas market and watching the Krampus run.

and finally I crossed some off road driving off the bucket list.

Special thanks to all of the hotels, tours, brands I have worked with over this year, including Craghoppers and Grayline.

Every year I try push myself to do as much as I can and I’m happy with the outcome of 2017.  I have a lot planned for next year already, but until then I’m away to spend the rest of this year watching Harry Potter with my husband.

I hope you have a Happy New Year and a bucket list filled 2017.

      It’s definitely one of the
Most beautiful places I’ve ever been. You can fly from Aberdeen now too 🙂
