Completing my Bucket List

A day in Berlin with Grayline

Unfortunately due to the strikes at Berlin airport, my time in Berlin was cut very short.  Instead of flying direct into Berlin, I flew to Frankfurt then had to take a 4+ hour train to  get into Berlin Main Station.  By the time I checked into the hotel  it was 3pm and I still wanted to see as much of the city as I could, so I headed straight to the Grayline tour.

Grayline are my favourite tour company to use in every city.  The bus tours are the best way to see a city when you are only there for a short period of time, and the commentary on board is a great way to learn about the history.

The City Circle Yellow Tour is available in the following languages: German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Hebrew, Korean, Arabic, Indonesian, Turkish and Hindi.

The Yellow Circle Tour included the below stops:

  • Kurfürstendamm
  • KaDeWe (largest department store on the European continent)
  • Bauhaus Museum
  • Potsdamer Platz
  • German Resistance Memorial Center
  • Checkpoint Charlie
  • Neptune Fountain
  • The Reichstag
  • Victory Column
  • Charlottenburg Palace

In accordance with our Hop-On, Hop-Off principle, you get to decide how long you would like to spend exploring each of the 18 sites covered on the tour. Our tour buses arrive at 10-minute intervals, allowing you to freely choose the sites you disembark at, as well as the duration of your visit to each site.
Taking the City Circle Yellow Tour without stopping to get off is also possible. The tour takes circa 2 hours and 15 minutes from start to finish.

As I didn’t have as much time in the city as I would of liked, I need to return in the future (this time with my husband).
