On Wednesday I filed for divorce! It’s the final step in the end of the most life changing year so far. The house is now officially mine and I’m just finally getting my finances in order. Paying bills for one was terrifying at first, but after carefully reviewing all of the bills and penny pinching where I could, everything is now less of a worry.
One of the things I was most worried about was how it would impact the amount of travel I could afford to go on. Luckily, it turns out it hasn’t, I’ve just had to learn to budget better and lower the standard of hotels I was used to.
Already this year I’ve been to Berlin and Barcelona, with a trip to Brussels and Montreal coming up.
I’ve also found myself booking a lot of things I wouldn’t of done when I was married because they are more my interest than “ours”. Comic Con’s, Horror Conventions and many other excuses to dress up.
In the last few months I’ve been working on building my first ever cosplay. A Night Elf from World of Warcraft. Hours of work and far have gone into this, so I really hope the end result will be worth it.
There is still a lot to be done, but it’s getting there and I’m quite proud of what I’ve managed so far.
I’m enjoying figuring out who I am now and all the extra time I have to concentrate on myself and my interests, which includes getting the blog back up and running again.
But for now, it’s time to get ready for my divorce party. Talk soon.
