24 Hours In Nottingham – With Roomzzz

The main reason for visiting Nottingham a few weeks ago was to visit Warhammer World, but whilst I was there I spent a little bit of time in the city.

After spending the morning at Warhammer World, it was time to check into the hotel. Staying at Roomzzz Nottingham Aparthotel, I was within perfect walking distance of everywhere I needed to be.

Roomzzz are serviced apartments with everything you need for a short or long stay. Think of an aparthotel as a home away from home, where you can enjoy all of your home comforts, but with the benefits of a hotel.

The hotel car park was £10 for 24 hours, and with where the location was, it was time to drop off the car and do some walking.

The first stop was The Haunted Museum – The home to evil spirits, 1000’s of haunted items and more. As a horror fan, as soon as I saw they had an original “SAW” puppet on display, I just had to go.

The haunted museum is £8 per person and the opening times are:

Monday – 11:00am – 6:00pm
Tuesday – 11:00am – 6:00pm
Wednesday – 11:00am – 6:00pm
Thursday – 11:00am – 6:00pm
Friday – 11:00am – 6:00pm
Saturday – 11:00am – 6:00pm
Sunday – 11:00am – 6:00pm

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

I then tried to make a visit to the famous City of Caves, but was 2 minutes late for their last entry so unfortunately missed that, but maybe next time. So after a bit of walking around the centre, and a long day of travel, it was time to go spend some more time at the hotel.

This luxury studio room is perfect for however long you are spending in the city. With a kitchenette with dishwasher, comfortable sofa, king size bed and large bathroom, it had everything I needed and more.

The hotel is right next to Nottingham’s iconic Rock City music venue and Market Square. But as someone who is more into the quiet life, after some time relaxing in the room, I headed out to try an Escape Room.

Poppa Plock’s Wonky Workshop at Houdinis Escape.

“Poppa Plock’s Wonky Workshop is a twisted toy shop themed escape experience in which you must solve puzzles, find clues and collect items in order to escape.

Available for 2 to 6 players.

This is a 60 minute game suitable for players aged 18 and up.

I was really impressed with this room, and hadn’t came across an escape experience like this before. I don’t want to give away more than that to spoil the fun, but definitely check it out if you’re in the area. I managed to escape with about 2 minutes left on the clock as well!

After a super comfortable night in the king-size bed, it was nearly time to check out and start the 8-hour drive back home.

Roomzzz provides complimentary breakfast between 6.30am and 10.30am including hot drinks, fruit juice, a variety of yoghurts, freshly baked pastries, porridge sachets and a selection of fruits. This is the perfect breakfast to grab and go, or take back up to your room.

I enjoyed my breakfast back up at the kitchen table before packing and checking out.

The hotel also provides a small shop at the front for all your snack needs, so I did some topping up for the ride home.

Roomzzz are stylish aparthotel suites and serviced apartments that offer a personal touch for adventure, business and celebration. The staff were lovely, the location was perfect, the room was beautiful I would definitely return on a trip to Nottingham again, or visit in another city.
